The CNC has the ability to machine holes on each side of our section and surface / square both top and bottom sections with a superior level of quality and precision.

This machine weighs nearly 24,000 kg, has a length of 10m/35 ft. and can reach a spindle speed of 12 000 rpm. It can machine 3 axes sideways with an additional rotary axe that has a travel machine available up to 48 in x 157 in. The machine is equipped with a touch screen Mitsubishi Controller. It has an automatic tool changer with tool storage capacity of 24 tools and has a tools length sensor. It is also equipped with an automatic chip removal conveyor and a custom-made section clamping system specially designed for SBB purposes.

To announce the contribution of Canada Economic Development  a press conference was held at SBB on October 13th. The announcement was made by Mr. Ramez Ayoub, Member of Parliament for Thérèse-De Blainville, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED.
